Happy New Year

Happy new Year everyone.

It's been a busy start to the new year. Decorations are all down, house is clean and hubby and the boys are all back to work, college or school. I, on the other hand, have another month off before I start my new job. Hopefully, this will give me the opportunity to have a huge and very necessary, sort out of my crafty stash and my wardrobe.

My first crafty make of the new year is for the January challenge over at The Crafting Café. The theme is Lots of Layers and we had images from the fabulous Bugaboo. I chose the snails because they are a little reminder of my last job.

I mat and layered using craft card and black cardstock. The background papers are new this month from Docrafts and form part of the Little Meow collection. The sentiment is a Lily of the Valley one.
I printed off the image several times and then decoupaged it to create even more layers.

 

I'm off now to make a list of what crafty items I need from the loft so that I can start my samples for my up and coming demos for Docrafts, a list of which is now on this blog. Would be lovely to see you if you could make it.                                                                                                                      



 

 

Crafting Cafe October Challenge

Hi all.

Just wanted to share with you my project for this month over at The Crafting Café. The theme is Think Pink, very appropriate seeing how October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The sponsor this month is Aurora Wings and you must pop over to the web page to have a look at these amazing designs. The image I chose is called Autumn Rose. I used a technique that I have been dying to try for ages, separating the image into sections and inking. This was the first time in ages that I've had my Distress Inks out.

 

The background paper  and embellishments I've had in my stash for ages, so these had an airing too!

September challenge at The Crafting Cafe

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I posted and it's been a very busy time in the Moore household. My eldest has left school , had his prom, GCSEs, started college and also got a job, all in the space of 5 months. Oh and I started a full time job too!

Any how, this month over at The Crafting Café, the challenge is Shades of One. Now, people that know me, know that  a lot of my cards tend to be like this any way, especially with the beautiful Capsule collections from Docrafts and it was to one of these collections I turned for this challenge.

I chose to work with one of the beautiful images from one of our sponsors, Scribble and Scrap Crafts. At first, I was going to work with the black collection but, if truth be known, I couldn't find all of the elements I wanted in my stash, nothing new there then. Finally, I turned to the gorgeous Parisienne Blue collection. I chose some pretty lace ribbon and a journaling note from the collection as well as a couple of the stunning papers.

All it needed to finish off were some pearl adhesive stones, some blue tinted roses and a sentiment. Job done!

July challenge at The Crafting Cafe

This month's challenge over at The Crafting Café is Feeling Fruity and our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine digi stamps. I chose to work with the image called Cider Apple and picked some colours that I don't work with very often.

 

 

 

I coloured the image with some soft pencils for a change and made an easel card with my scalloped and plain oval dies. hope you like it and would love you to join in our challenge this month. Your project can feature fruit or use fruity colours.  

A couple of commissions

This week has been quite a busy one in crafting terms. My new kit came from Docrafts featuring some lovely new collections to work with over the next couple of months. I have also been working on a couple of commissions.

The first was for my friend at work to give to her husband who is a keen fisherman. I used a Pinflair Background Artist image and then blended my distress inks to add colour. My friend loved the card and I was really pleased with how it turned out.

My second card was a Wedding Acceptance with the colours for the wedding being pale sage green, a bit of a challenge, you may think. I was lucky enough, however, to have this lovely lace paper from the new Docrafts Botanicals range. I just added the wording, some ribbons and a flower charm and  job done.

 

 

Am now off to create a few more projects for my second demo of the weekend. A woman's work and all that. 

The Crafting Cafe June challenge

Hi everyone.

Here we are again with my project for the challenge over at The Crafting Café. This month's theme is Love and Marriage and our sponsor for this is Bugaboo Digital Stamps. I had never seen these before, but what a fab set of images we had to work with. I chose Ava and Deacon Love word for my project.

I coloured the image using watercolour pencils just using black and red. The paper and lace trim are from the new Docrafts Midnight Blush capsule collection. I mat and layered the image and sentiment onto black card and then die cut some little red hearts to accent.

I really loved working with these images and will be popping over to Bugaboo to buy some more.

Crafting cafe May challenge

Hi everyone,

It's that time of the month again when I post my project for The Crafting Cafe blog. This month's sponsor is Oak Pond Creatons. I hadn't heard of these before but the images we were given to work with are adorable. Pop over to our blog during the month to see some other really cute images. As we are a gardening family, or rather, mom,dad the kids and hubby are, I chose The potting shed. Couldn't resist this cute little chappy.

I coloured the image in using watercolour pencils, die cut it and inked the edges and mounted it onto a die cut scalloped oval. The sentiment is handwritten and the flowers and leaves are cut using X Cut dies.

One for the boys

Hi everyone.

I'm a little bit late this month with my DT entry for The Crafting Café. It's been really busy since my last post. My eldest hit 16 and is about to leave school in 3 weeks, we had Mother's Day and Mum was 70 the same day and the following week was Hubby's and sister's birthdays. However, it is done.

The theme of this month's challenge was One for The Boys, a very suitable choice in a house with a husband and 3 sons! This month's sponsors were Kenny K and Delicious Doodles who both provided some fab images to work with.

I chose the Kenny K image and used the cover mount from the April edition of Docrafts Creativity magazine for the sentiment.

Crafting Cafe March Challenge

Hi everyone,

It's that time of the month again when I show my card for the challenge over at the Crafting Café. This month's brief was to make a clean and simple card using one of the lovely images from LEJ designs.

Now, some of my lovely crafty friends know that I don't do CAS cards very often, they are sooo out of my comfort zone, so I hope you like what I've done.

 

 

 

I haven't coloured the little doggie image at all, just die cut it off centre and matted it onto some black card using the new big nesting dies from Docrafts. I then cut out an easel card using the same dies from an 8"x8" card blank. The stopper on the card is just a bow. I just added a little bit of bling and hey presto, my finished project.

Battlefields of France

Hi all. Blogging twice in a month, what is the world coming to.

My middle son has been given the opportunity this year, to visit the WW1 battlefields of France and Belgium with his school. This got me thinking of a card I made last year using a beautiful stamp from Indigoblu called Blazing Poppies.

I kept the card quite simple, for me anyway, using quite a limited palette. The image says it all. I just stamped part of the image around the edge of the card, stamped and coloured the main image and die cut it using one of my XCut dies. the sentiment was from another Indigoblu stamp set, Live, Love, Laugh.

 

I am really proud of my son as he had to answer 3 questions as to why he thought he should go on the trip and the children were chosen on the basis of those answers. Although he's only 13, he came out with a really good reason as to why we should never forget WW1 and the horrors that went with it.  

Hope you like the card and you never know, there may be another post from me at some point this week. Well, it is half term and it would be rude not to spend some of it creating.

Happy New Year

Hi all

Again it seems like ages since my last post but I have some news to share with you. Since I last posted, I have been picked to be on the Design Team for the Crafting Café blog. Each month we have a challenge and this month's sponsors are WOW! embossing powders. The theme of this month's challenge is embossing, either heat embossing or dry embossing. I chose dry embossing and used the Twelve Days of Christmas range from Docrafts. Yes, I know it's only February but I like to have crafty stuff with more than one use and to this end, I turned it into a Valentines card.

Home Sweet Home

Hi everybody,
Can't believe it's been over 6 months since my last post and what a busy 6 months it has been. I have had lots of Docrafts demos and been lucky enough to play with some really fab goodies.
Today, I wanted to share with you something I made for my demo in my friend's shop, Beacon Crafts in Sedgley. Helen has a really lovely litle shop which sells craft items, wool and haberdashery, it's a proper little Aladdin's cave.

 

 

 

This is made from a kit from one of my favourite companies at the moment, Tando Creative. The kits are great because you can  decorate them any which way you want. here, i have inked the backgrounds and then stamped some flourishes on the houses and the roofs have a little harlequin pattern on them.

 

I hope to be using more Tando products in the future as they are so easy to work with and make lovely gifts. I'm sure one day when Mum and Dad have visited, I'm going to find this has disappeared off my wall, she keeps dropping hints x

While the cat's away..........

Hi all,

Spent a fantastic day at the NEC yesterday at Stitches, the trade craft show with my dear friend Helen who owns a lovely little craft shop in Sedgley called Beacon Crafts.

Anyhow, because of this and also spending a very lovely weekend with hubby and the boys and also  a baby shower for my friend Jodie, I haven't had much time to play since last week's offerings.

As some of you may know, hubby and I are both scout leaders, I do the little ones, the Beavers, and Gary does Cubs. On a regular basis, the Cubs go off on camp for the weekend and this means that hubby and no 3 son disappear to do scouty things. On one such weekend last year, I had a bit of time on my hands, 2 whole days, where the housework seemed to get forgotten and my 2 big boys did their own thing, so I had to craft and this is what I came up with, a photo frame without a photo!

 

 

I hope you like it, and I'm off now to continue with the cat and mouse theme, I'm upcycling a mousetrap !!!!!!

Ah Bisto

Hi everyone,

Thought I would just pop a little post on today to show you a little project that has been whizzing round my head for weeks, ever since I had my kit from Docrafts. Well, finally, after days of planning, here it is.

This post is called Ah Bisto because that's exactly what it is- an old granules can. I've used X cut dies to cut a base and then coverred it all in contrasting Vintage Notes papers, which I have to say, are stunning.

Then a made the large blue rose using my Tim holtz Tattered Florals die and then just kept on adding until I reached the top.

Best laid plans and all that

Hey everyone,

Just a little post today to let you know how stupid I am. Went to pay an instalment for my son's trip to France this morning and OMG what a panic, could not find my debit card anywhere. After careful  thought, I realised I had left it in a shop in our local shopping centre yesterday. It must of been those two pairs of fabby boots I bought that took my mind off things. lol

Anyhow, snow day for the little one, big two still had to go to school, so instead of a leisurely crafting day that I had planned, a four bus round trip to retrieve the card which, thankfully, the store had put into their safe. What a relief!!!

 Now, however, after a nice cuppa, I thought I would share a couple of demo cards from this Jan/Feb loop from Docrafts. These two ranges, Vintage Notes and Chronology have been an absolute delight to work with and although one is quite masculine and the other very pretty pastels and all things girly, mix and match quite well.

I have no more demos until the new products are launched in March  but I know I will carry on using these ranges for a good while, or at least until my stash runs out which I don't think will be very long!!

Catch up time

Hi there.Long time no see as they say. Can't believe it's been so long since I last blogged.Last year was really manic and I seemed to have so many other things to do, my little crafty world got rather neglected. Hopefully, 2013 will be different. Have just posted the dates of my Docrafts demos so far for the coming year. The first one is next week and I'm busy prepping for that. Hopefully, I can pop some piccies on here in the coming days. Hope everyone had a fabby New Year. Catch you all later. xxx

Inky, messy play

Hi guys,

Hope this Easter finds you all well. Have had a busy week playing with some new stamp sets by Sam Poole for hubby's big birthday and the birthday of a friend. Have also had my mum's  and my sister's birthdays this week too. The piccies are of hubby's card using the Vintage Photography set and the girly card used Steampunk Dreams. Hope you like them

Can't believe how long it's been since I last blogged. Have been very busy though with new demos for Docrafts, family birthdays, work and other stuff. Have finally got around to updating my docrafts gallery with cards from the last couple of loops and have added one of my faves although I have a few! Hope you like it. Gothic Alice!!

Happy New Year

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year. Have had a lovely break over the holiday period, just chilling out with my family and friends, but now back to reality. Kids go back to school on Wednesday and so do I. Tomorrow will be spent making cards for my demo this weekend and some birthday cards for some new friends. Will post when I have piccies.
